BIO SEBASTIEN BOISSARD
Créé en 2004, le Studio Boissard s’appuie sur les nombreux projets de collaborations et de recherches de Sébastien Boissard au sein d’agences en France et aux Etats-Unis, dans le domaine de l’architecture, de l’architecture intérieure et du design.
Sébastien Boissard possède une double formation d’architecte DPLG et de designer effectuée en France et aux U.S.A. Sa formation initiale est celle de designer et d’architecte d’intérieur (Ecole Camondo, Paris, France 1988-1992) . Il a obtenu un master en architecture au Pratt Institute (1995-1997) à New York dans le cadre de la bourse Lavoisier du Ministère des Affaires Etrangères, et son diplôme DPLG à l’école d’architecture Paris-Villemin(2000).
Suite à l’obtention de son diplôme, Sébastien Boissard a été engagé au sein de l’agence de Tsao & Mc Kown Architectes (1997-2000) puis de Gwathmey and Siegel & Associates (2000-2002) à New York où il travaille sur des projets d’hôtels, de restaurants, de maisons individuelles et sur le développement de mobiliers spécifiques.
De retour à Paris après 7 années à New York, il a collaboré avec Philippe Starck et Martin Francis (2003-2008). Il est notamment en charge du projet « A », un yacht de 119 mètres, ainsi que du développement du projet d’Hôtel Mama Shelter (Paris). Suite à cette expérience dans le domaine du yachting, Sébastien Boissard collabore avec Rémi Tessier sur la conception d’un yacht de 81 mètres. En 2011, le Studio Boissard a conçu un yacht de 140 mètres et différents projets architecturaux de réhabilitation et d’aménagement de logements. Il anime depuis 2008 à l’Ecole Camondo un atelier transversal et enseigne un module de recherche sur la construction destiné à sensibiliser les étudiants en 4ème année (architecture intérieure et design) à des approches particulières en développant leurs relations aux systèmes constructifs.
La formation pluridisciplinaire de Sébastien Boissard lui permet de travailler sur différentes échelles de projets.
Sébastien Boissard is the founder and head of the architectural firm “Studio Boissard”. Created in 2004 after years of collaborations and research projects in France and the USA, “Studio Boissard” is dedicated to the practice of architecture and design and interior design.
Sébastien Boissard trained as an architectural and interior designer at the school “Camondo” in Paris from (1988-1992).With the support of an educational grant from the French Foreign Office, he then attended “Pratt Institute” in New York, completing a Master’s Degree in architecture in (1995-1997). During his time in New York, he collaborated with Tsao & McKown Architects (1997-2000) and Gwathmey & Siegel and Associates (2000-2002), designing hotels, restaurants, private residences and custom furniture. Back in Paris, he graduated as “Architect DPLG” from the school of Architecture Paris –Villemin in 2000. Before establishing “Studio Boissard”, Sébastien Boissard collaborated with Philippe Starck and Martin Francis (2003-2008), where he was in charge of designing “A”, a yacht of 119 meters (390 feet), and participated in the development of Mama Shelter Hotel in Paris. His experience in ship design led him to work with Rémi Tessier on a yacht of 81 meters, followed in 2010-11 by “Studio Boissard’s” design a yacht of 140 meters. In that time, “Studio Boissard” rehabilitated a house and private apartments in Paris, and since 2008, Mr. Boissard has taught 4th year interior and product design at “Ecole Camondo” in a transversal studio. Here, he recently developed a research module on construction, which imparts to students an organic awareness of their relationship to building systems.
Sébastien Boissard’s multidisciplinary training and design experience has allowed him to successfully work on a wide range of projects.
